Working life feedback

Working life feedback reports reflect the experiences and satisfaction of workplaces with the activities of vocational institutions in organising training based on an apprenticeship or training agreement in cooperation with workplaces.

There are two types of feedback surveys: the survey to workplace instructors and the survey to workplaces. The questions in the survey are related to everyday aspects of the partnership, the customer orientation of the educational institution’s activities, the process of drawing up the agreements and the guidance and support offered to the workplace by the institution. The survey does not assess the student.

The feedback survey is sent to all workplaces that have instructed students taking vocational upper secondary qualifications, further vocational qualifications or specialist vocational qualifications or qualification unit(s) based on an apprenticeship or training agreement. On-the-job learning periods are training individually tailored for the students that is planned together with the workplace and organised at the workplace in connection with practical tasks.

The results are only reported when the selected target group has at least five respondents. Workplace-specific information is not reported in Vipunen.

The survey to workplace instructors is sent to the responsible workplace instructor assigned to the student at the end of the student’s on-the-job learning period. Feedback is collected continuously, and it is based on completed on-the-job learning periods. The results are updated on the third day of each month with data from two months before. The time period that the report deals with can be checked from the dates in the Statistical period filter. The survey to workplace instructors was introduced on 1 July 2021.

The survey to workplaces is sent to the person responsible for the workplace’s cooperation with educational institutions twice a year, in January/February and July/August. The results are updated every March 3rd with data collected from the period 1.7.–31.12. and every September 3rd with data collected from the period 1.1.–30.6. The survey to workplaces was introduced in January 2022.

The Ministry of Education and Culture and the Finnish National Agency for Education are responsible for the working life feedback surveys.
