Applicants and selected candidates

These reports provide application and admissions data for vocational education and training.

Note! Some of the reports are subject to data protection measures. In that case numbers of 1-4 persons are shown as "1-4" and larger numbers are rounded to the nearest multiple of three. Percentages are calculated using the protected numbers.

Application to further education after comprehensive school (basic education) – Updating Report

A constantly updating report is always updated with information from the previous day. For example, the number of applicants will be updated in the applicant statistics for the joint application period at the beginning of each application period. At the end of the application period, the final number of applicants may change slightly as the processing of applications progresses. The information on joint application period applicants who have been admitted, accepted an offer of admission and begun their studies will also be updated as student admissions progress in educational institutions.

Application to further education after comprehensive school (basic education) – Annual Statistical Reports

Applicants, candidates selected and those who accepted a place for vocational or general upper secondary education in the joint application system

The number of available places of study in rolling admission can be seen on the report if the education provider has uploaded the data to Studyinfo. Application and admission data can be seen on the report if the education provider has organised the application through Studyinfo and updated the admission data to the student admission register. Starting from the joint application in Spring 2022 (to education beginning in Autumn 2022), the joint application to upper secondary education and preparatory education after comprehensive school contains general upper secondary education,  initial vocational qualification, vocational upper secondary qualification as special needs education, preparatory education for programmes leading to an upper secondary qualification (TUVA), preparatory education and training for work and independent living (TELMA), and folk high school programmes intended for students who are required to attend compulsory education. Data for previous years contain data from the joint application systems for vocational and general upper secondary education.

Data for the 'All applicants' indicator has been adjusted so that an individual can appear only once per row. The same individual may be included more than once in different rows.

The 'Applicants completing comprehensive school (basic education)' report only includes data on those applicants who have completed comprehensive school and whose data was transferred to the Studyinfo portal by basic education providers before the beginning of the joint application period, and those applicants who have completed their compulsory education and whose data was not transferred to the portal, but who nevertheless applied through the joint application system. This means that the data does not cover the whole age group of those who completed their compulsory education. The applicant data also includes those who completed their education conditionally or failed their grade, but who applied for further education. Furthermore, the data covers applicants who applied through the joint application system on discretionary grounds.

Data for the 'All applicants' measure has been adjusted so that an individual can appear only once per row. The same individual may be included more than once in different rows. From 2022 onwards, these applications were merged into one joint application to upper secondary education and preparatory education so these reports won't be updated after 2021.
