Continuous learning

Continuous learning reports are based on indicator work carried out in the scope of the parliamentary reform of continuous learning, the aim of which is to review the achievement of goals set for the reform. Continuous learning reports can be used to review the number and distribution of new students in vocational education and training, universities of applied sciences and university education.

Note! The reports are subject to data protection measures unless otherwise stated on the page. Numbers of persons from 1 to 4 are displayed as “1–4”, and no corresponding calculated indicators (e.g., averages) are reported. Quantities greater than four will be rounded to the nearest number divisible by three. Percentages are also calculated with protected numbers.

Background of new students in degree programmes

New students refer to students who, during the statistical year, have been registered with a certain educational institution for a certain degree programme. The number of new students is presented for the entire statistical year. An individual is recorded once per level of education (level 2). Only new students aged 25 or over are included in the default view of reports, but the data of all new students are available in the reports. The data are available from 2017 onwards. The reports on low incomes and sector reports are based on separate, more limited data.
