Personnel

Employee reports provide information on the qualifications of teachers in basic education, general upper secondary education, vocational education and training, and liberal adult education and, separately, the qualifications of teachers in liberal adult education and the take up of continuing education. The statistics are based on the collection of data per capita by Statistics Finland. Data on teachers is collected every two or three years. Data is available from the year 2010 onwards. Survey response rates by educational structure are shown in the table below. When examining the statistics, response rates should be taken into consideration. More specific statistics on teachers in basic education, general upper secondary education and vocational education and training are published on the sector-specific pages.

Note! Some of the reports are subject to data protection measures. In that case numbers of 1-4 persons are shown as "1-4" and larger numbers are rounded to the nearest multiple of three. Percentages are calculated using the protected numbers.

The reports provide information on the take up of further and continuing education among teachers, and the time as man-days spent on different forms of continuing education. A man-day refers to an input of at least six hours. For example, two eight-hour days are calculated as two days of continuing education, while two work inputs of at least three hours are calculated as one day of continuing education.
