Personnel

Personnel reports provide information on the qualifications of teachers in general upper secondary education and the take up of continuing professional development. The statistics are based on the collection of data per capita by Statistics Finland. Data on teachers is collected every two or three years. Data is available from the year 2010 onwards. Survey response rates by educational structure are shown in the table below. When examining the statistics, response rates should be taken into consideration.

If more detailed information on the number of teachers is required, find the number of employed teachers here: Population, educational and vocational structures > Occupations and education of the population in employment (E.g. “Employed by occupational group and age group” -report). In this employment statistic a profession has been defined for all those employed annually since 2004 and it depicts the situation of the last week of the year.

A man-day refers to an input of at least six hours. For example, two eight-hour days are calculated as two days of continuing education, while two work inputs of at least three hours each are calculated as one day of continuing education.
